Dan Clausen

Dan Clausen has lived in Preble for more than 10 years, where he and his wife run a small farm raising Angora goats and chickens while raising their two young children.
A 2025 candidate for Town Board, Dan spent much of last fall knocking on doors across Preble and listening to residents’ concerns, priorities, and hopes for the town.
Dan brings more than 15 years of experience as an attorney, including work with public-private investment partnerships and development initiatives.
He believes local government should be guided by efficiency, compassion, and sustainability.

As he turns 80, Joe Heath needs just one thing to retire as a lawyer
Joe Heath has been a Preble homeowner/resident for nearly 40 years. He has assisted the town on various occasions, applying his environmental expertise to issues reflected in Preble’s Comprehensive Plan.

He has served on committees that helped draft the solar zoning changes and supported efforts to restrict “key holing” and enact the town’s current ethics law.
Joe understands the town’s complex needs as reflected in the recently adopted (2024) Comprehensive Plan, which calls for accommodating inevitable change and growth while preserving Preble’s rural character.

Joe Heath is in his 52nd year of law practice and has worked in several fields. He is a nationally recognized civil rights pioneer who has practiced criminal law, protected abused and neglected children, and helped establish the local domestic violence coalition.
​
For several decades, he has served as General Counsel for the Onondaga Nation, focusing mainly on environmental issues involving Onondaga Lake and Creek, as well as repatriation and cultural resource protection.
​
He frequently lectures at colleges and law schools and teaches Indigenous law at Cornell Law School.
